Build with Claude on AWS: Hands-on from Bedrock to Claude Code

Claude on AWS Workshop

About the workshop

Want to bring Claude into your real development workflow? This is a hands-on L200 workshop for developers and startup engineers. In the first half, an AWS Solutions Architect walks you through the essentials of the official Anthropic on AWS workshop—calling Claude models via Amazon Bedrock, prompt engineering, tool use, RAG fundamentals, and an intro to Bedrock AgentCore to build your first agent—all in a managed AWS Workshop Studio environment (no personal AWS account required). In the second half, a technical speaker from the Claude Community takes you hands-on with Claude Code—getting it running, teaching it your conventions with CLAUDE.md, and turning workflows into reusable agent skills. We close with 20 minutes of Q&A and networking.

Two hands-on sessions

  1. Part 1

Claude on AWS with Amazon Bedrock

Highlights from the official AWS workshop: an overview of Bedrock, your first Claude API call, prompt engineering, tool use (function calling), RAG fundamentals, an introduction to Bedrock AgentCore, and a mini challenge to build a simple Claude application.

Jeremy Lin — AWS Solutions Architect

  2. Part 2

    Claude Code

Teach AI your project conventions with CLAUDE.md, turn workflows into reusable agent skills, and build a working feature live from a requirement. MCP servers and sub-agents will be covered if time allows.
